Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished manuscripts to Cornerstone Civil Engineering Journal (CCEJ). Submitted manuscripts must not be under consideration for publication in another journal or conference proceeding.

CCEJ publishes research articles, review articles, technical papers, and case studies in the field of civil engineering and infrastructure development.

Manuscript Preparation

Authors must prepare manuscripts according to the following guidelines.

1. Language

Manuscripts may be written in:

  • English

  • Indonesian

Authors are encouraged to use clear, concise, and grammatically correct language.

2. Manuscript Format

The manuscript should be prepared using the official CCEJ article template in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

General formatting requirements:

  • Paper size: A4

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font size: 12 pt

  • Line spacing: 1.5

  • Text alignment: Justified

3. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should contain the following sections:

a. Title

  • Concise and informative

  • Maximum 20 words

  • Written in bold uppercase letters

b. Author Information

Include:

  • Full name of author(s)

  • Affiliation

  • Email address

  • Corresponding author indication

c. Abstract

  • Written in English and Indonesian

  • 150–250 words

  • Contains:

    • background,

    • objective,

    • methodology,

    • results,

    • conclusion

d. Keywords

  • 3–5 keywords

  • Separated by commas

e. Introduction

Contains:

  • research background,

  • problem statement,

  • objectives,

  • literature review,

  • novelty of the study

f. Research Method

Describes:

  • research design,

  • materials,

  • data collection,

  • analysis methods,

  • experimental procedures

g. Results and Discussion

Presents:

  • research findings,

  • analysis,

  • interpretation,

  • comparison with previous studies

Tables and figures must be clearly labeled and cited in the text.

h. Conclusion

Contains:

  • summary of findings,

  • implications,

  • recommendations for future work

i. Acknowledgements (Optional)

Used to acknowledge:

  • funding institutions,

  • collaborators,

  • research assistance

j. References

References should:

  • use recent and relevant sources,

  • prioritize journal articles,

  • follow APA Style or IEEE Style consistently.

Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as:

  • Mendeley,

  • Zotero,

  • EndNote.

4. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively.

  • Each table and figure must have a title/caption.

  • Images must have good resolution.

  • Sources must be included when applicable.

5. Citation and References

CCEJ encourages authors to use recent references from:

  • scientific journals,

  • conference proceedings,

  • books,

  • official standards and regulations.

At least 70% of references should come from journal articles published within the last 10 years.

6. Originality and Plagiarism

Submitted manuscripts must be original works.

CCEJ uses plagiarism detection software to screen all manuscripts. Manuscripts with high similarity levels may be rejected.

7. Submission Process

Authors must submit manuscripts through the online journal system:

https://ejournal.atkup.ac.id/index.php/ccej

Submission by email is not accepted.

8. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts undergo a Double-Blind Peer Review process conducted by expert reviewers in relevant fields.

Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer comments.

9. Publication Ethics

Authors must ensure that:

  • the manuscript is original,

  • data presented are accurate,

  • references are properly cited,

  • there is no plagiarism,

  • there is no data fabrication or falsification.

Any ethical misconduct may result in manuscript rejection or retraction.

10. Copyright and Open Access

CCEJ provides immediate open access to all published articles.

Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal the right to publish and distribute the article.

11. Article Processing Charge (APC)

Information regarding publication fees or Article Processing Charges (APC) will be announced by the journal management.
