Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished manuscripts to Cornerstone Civil Engineering Journal (CCEJ). The journal publishes high-quality scientific papers in the field of civil engineering and infrastructure development.

Submitted manuscripts must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere and must comply with the journal policies and ethical standards.

Manuscript Scope

CCEJ accepts manuscripts related to, but not limited to:

  • Water Construction Engineering

  • Building Construction Engineering

  • Roads and Bridges Engineering

  • Structural Engineering

  • Geotechnical Engineering

  • Transportation Engineering

  • Surveying and Geomatics

  • Environmental Engineering

  • Construction Management

  • Sustainable Infrastructure

  • Applied Civil Engineering Technology

Manuscript Types

CCEJ accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles

  • Review Articles

  • Technical Papers

  • Case Studies

Language

Manuscripts may be written in:

  • English

  • Indonesian

Authors are encouraged to use clear, concise, and grammatically correct academic language.

Manuscript Format

Authors must prepare manuscripts using the official CCEJ template.

General formatting requirements:

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

  • Paper size: A4

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font size: 12 pt

  • Line spacing: 1.5

  • Margin: 2.5 cm on all sides

Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should contain the following sections:

1. Title

  • Concise and informative

  • Maximum 20 words

  • Written clearly and specifically

2. Author Information

Include:

  • Full name of author(s)

  • Affiliation

  • Email address

  • Corresponding author indication

3. Abstract

  • Written in English and Indonesian

  • 150–250 words

  • Contains:

    • background,

    • objectives,

    • methods,

    • results,

    • conclusions

4. Keywords

Provide 3–5 keywords separated by commas.

5. Introduction

Contains:

  • research background,

  • problem statement,

  • research objectives,

  • literature review,

  • novelty of the study.

6. Research Method

Describe:

  • research design,

  • data collection,

  • materials,

  • procedures,

  • analytical methods.

7. Results and Discussion

Present:

  • research findings,

  • analysis,

  • interpretation,

  • comparison with previous studies.

All tables and figures must be properly numbered and cited in the text.

8. Conclusion

Contains:

  • summary of findings,

  • implications,

  • recommendations for future studies.

9. Acknowledgements (Optional)

Used to acknowledge:

  • funding agencies,

  • collaborators,

  • institutions,

  • research assistance.

10. References

References should:

  • prioritize recent journal articles,

  • follow a consistent citation style,

  • and be arranged according to the journal format.

Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as:

  • Mendeley,

  • Zotero,

  • EndNote.

Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be clear and readable.

  • Each table and figure must include a title or caption.

  • Images should have good resolution.

  • Sources must be cited when applicable.

Citation Style

CCEJ recommends using:

  • APA Style
    or

  • IEEE Style

consistently throughout the manuscript.

Submission Process

All manuscripts must be submitted through the online journal system:

Submission by email is not accepted.

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a Double-Blind Peer Review process by independent reviewers.

The review process evaluates:

  • originality,

  • scientific contribution,

  • methodology,

  • technical quality,

  • clarity,

  • and relevance to the journal scope.

Plagiarism Policy

CCEJ does not tolerate plagiarism in any form.

All manuscripts will be checked using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with unacceptable similarity levels may be rejected.

Publication Ethics

Authors must ensure that:

  • the manuscript is original,

  • data are accurate,

  • all references are properly cited,

  • there is no fabrication or falsification,

  • and ethical research standards are followed.

Open Access Policy

CCEJ provides immediate open access to all published articles to support the dissemination of scientific knowledge worldwide.

Copyright

Authors retain copyright of their work while granting CCEJ the right of first publication under an open access license.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.
